Elliott Vanskike is an award-winning writer and editor with 35 years of scientific and technical writing, editing, and publishing experience. He is a researcher with 30 years of experience, including contributions in literary studies, substance abuse treatment, and substance abuse prevention. He designed, wrote, and produced a line of highly successful treatment handbooks and family education videos for methamphetamine addiction and helped oversee and write several volumes in SAMHSA’s Treatment Improvement Protocol series. His experience ranges from authoring a children’s book about the oceans to reviewing music and books in major magazines and the Washington Post to appearing as a soccer expert on NPR. Working in higher education, Elliott taught writing and literature for 8 years and worked as a grant writer for 10 years, including designing and leading grant-writing workshops for faculty and community nonprofits. He also helped found and build a successful website focused on sports and culture.
